Founded in 1925, Binzagr today is a leading FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) distributor in Saudi Arabia representing international blue-chip multinationals including Unilever, Kellogg's, Heinz, Tyson Foods, Hershey, Dunlop and McCain. The company has branches and distribution centers in over 25 locations in Saudi Arabia. Its sales force consists of 600 employees supported by another 400 employees in warehouse operations and administration who sell products to all channels of trade ranging from large wholesale customers to key supermarket accounts to street corner grocery stores.

Business case
The task grew in its complexity from the start since the previously used MCBA solution was completely out of date and SAP platform had to be installed from scratch. Since it’s become a brand of diversified world-wide interest the company experienced a vital need for enhanced control in Human Capital Management (HCM) and Business Intelligence (BI) domains. Being a leading distributor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia it needed a tool that would help them manage tasks of magnifying complexity (e.g. multiple HR processes like updating personal information or requesting holiday leaves).

Solution features
The purpose of this project was to deliver an SAP Enterprise Portal that would provide business values to everyone involved into this initiative. It was necessary to build up a framework that would provide access to relevant information based on employees’ responsibility within company’s organization and would allow them read and write access (as appropriate) to all information relevant to their area of responsibility.
Since there was no portal solution installed at Binzagr the aim was to achieve the following goals:
- HCM-MSS (Human Resources – Manager Self-Service) Content Integration;
- BI Content Integration;
- Development of a unique branding concept.

Delivery approach
In the course of collaboration Binzagr Co. requested that an Ozone’s employee should have stayed onsite at all project stages. Ozone’s senior portal consultant spent 4 months onsite exercising control over the project at blueprint, realization and go-live stages. He spent additional 2 weeks at post go-live stage and provided extensive support to company’s personnel to ensure the project could be safely taken over.
